Jewellery stolen from vanity bag in city bus

Mysuru: Thieves have stolen a gold necklace which was kept in a vanity bag of a woman who was travelling in a city bus. The woman, who lost her necklace, has been identified as Sampoorna, a resident of Raghavendranagar in city.

On Sunday, Sampoorna, along with her friend Rekhavathi, had been to Krishnaraja and Sons, a jewellery store on Ashoka Road and purchased a gold necklace worth about Rs. 70,000.

They then proceeded on foot to City Bus Stand where they boarded Route No.161 to Raghavendranagar. After reaching Rekhavathi’s house, Sampoorna opened the vanity bag only to find the necklace missing and immediately lodged a complaint at Nazarbad Police Station.

Nazarbad Police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating.
