Surrenders to Lakshmipuram Police

Mysore/Mysuru: A youth, whose marriage proposal was turned down by his girlfriend allegedly stabbed her with a knife at her house on Dewan’s Road in K.R. Mohalla on Sunday morning. The accused later surrendered before the Police. 

The accused is Gagan alias Kencha, a resident of Bellikatte Machine Road, near Devaraj Urs Road in Devaraja Mohalla. It is learnt that Gagan and the girl were in love for the past five years, but the girl and her parents had turned down his marriage proposal and the girl had called off their relationship about 15 days ago.

Dejected over this, Gagan, on Sunday morning went to the girl’s house and knocked the door. As soon as the girl opened the door, Gagan allegedly stabbed her multiple times injuring her seriously and fled from the spot.

The seriously injured girl has been admitted to a private hospital in city, where her condition is said to be critical.

Hours after the incident, Gagan surrendered before Lakshmipuram Police, who took him into custody and interrogated him. A case has been registered under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder) against Gagan by Lakshmipuram Police.
