Jo-Fest 2026 at St. Joseph’s FGC

Mysore/Mysuru: Jo- Fest 2026, the College Fest of St. Joseph’s First Grade College (FGC), a unit of the Mysore Diocesan Educational Society (MDES), was inaugurated at the College premises in Jayalakshmipuram here recently by Dr. Mantelingu, Director, CDC, University of Mysore.

He stressed on the importance of discipline and practice in our daily life. Citing the example of Michael Phelps and Michael Jordon, who had won the highest number of medals in Olympics, he highlighted the significance of routines in being the building blocks of success.

He stated that genius is not in talent, but the secret of success lies in the formation of habits, pointing out that life can be changed by changing routines and habits. He also stressed on the role of clear, specific and achievable goals in one’s life, reiterating on being disciplined and developing a positive attitude. 

Rev. Fr. Edward William Saldanha, MDES Secretary, said the word ‘Fest’ is derived from German language, adding that  Kannadigas refer to it as Jathra, which was the only source of entertainment and means of communication in the past.

Seby Mavely, CEO of Training and Development at MDES and Dr. H.N. Chandrashekara,            Principal, were present.
