Mysore/Mysuru: Promising jobs at a Multi-National Company (MNC), a couple has allegedly cheated a woman of Rs. 12 lakh in city.
The woman, who has been cheated is 53-year-old M.N. Netravathi, a resident of Sharadadevinagar in Hunsur and the accused couple are 46-year-old Murali Gowda and his wife 37-year-old Veena, residents of Saraswathipuram in city.
The couple, who got themselves introduced to Netravathi, told her that Murali was working at the personal security wing of PM Modi and told Netravathi that Murali knew many CEOs of various MNCs.
Netravathi, who was looking for jobs for her children told them whether they could get her children Nagaraje Urs and Eshwar Raje Urs jobs in a MNC to which Murali told her that he would get them jobs with Rs. 2 lakh salaries per month and from Oct. 4, 2021 till Oct. 18 obtained Rs. 12 lakh in two instalments from Netravathi.
As Murali did not get the jobs for her children, Netravathi approached Murali, who told her that the documents have been sent to the Union Government and recently, the couple vacated the house at Saraswathipuram and have gone absconding.
Netravathi has lodged a complaint at Saraswathipuram Police Station.
The couple have also cheated Savithrammanni of Mavathur village in K.R. Nagar taluk of Rs. 10.94 lakh by promising to get her son a job at a MNC. A case has been registered at K.R. Nagar Police Station in this regard.
