Journalist killed as car hits scooter

Mysore/Mysuru: A journalist, who had sustained serious injuries after a car rammed into the scooter he was riding at Nanjangud Ring Road Junction on Sunday evening and admitted to a private hospital in city, has succumbed to injuries at the hospital yesterday night.

The deceased is Vinod (38), reporter of ‘Udayavani’ at Hanur.

On Sunday evening, Vinod was proceeding on his scooter towards J.P. Nagar on some work. When he took a left turn from T. Narasipur Road towards the Ring Road, a speeding Kerala registration car rammed into the scooter resulting in Vinod sustaining serious injuries.

Though he was immediately admitted to a private hospital in city, Vinod succumbed to injuries yesterday at about 8.30 pm.

He leaves behind his parents, brother, wife, one son, one daughter and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were held at Hanur today, according to family sources.

Chamarajanagar District Journalists Association, Kollegal, Hanur, Yalandur and Gundlupet Taluk Journalists Associations have condoled the death of Vinod.
