Observing that medical graduates should not look at monetary benefits in order to achieve success in their profession, Dr. S. Rajasekaran, Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics of Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, said that doctors should not get disinterested in their profession.

He was speaking at the Graduation Day ceremony of JSS Medical College, Sri Shivarathreeshwaranagar, at College premises on Saturday.

Pointing out that doctors should pursue higher education in their specialisation to contribute to society, Dr. Rajasekaran regretted that nearly 40 percent of Medical Institutions across the country were found lacking in infrastructure and staff.

Stating that we should take pleasure in what we do, he said that money can only meet our requirements.

Noting that the money we earn should depend upon our success and honesty, he said that we can achieve our objectives only if we tread the right path.

Maintaining that educational institutions can provide only quality education and not Margadarshaks, he said that the responsibility of having their own Margadarshak rested with the students. Complimenting the JSS Hospital for having necessary facilities, he called upon the students to make best use of it and hone their medical skills.

A total of 172 students — 84 men and 88 women  — received degree certificates on the occasion. Dr. M.
