JSS NSS unit sows over 4 lakh seed-balls at Muthathi forest

Mysuru: The NSS Unit of Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara University, Mysuru, initiated a ‘Grow Green’ movement and as a part of this initiative, a seed-ball sowing programme was recently organised at Muthathi Forest,  Malavalli Taluk.

The programme was jointly organised by NSS Unit of JSS University, NSS Unit of Maharani’s College, Mysuru and Vruksha Ropana-2017, a volunteer organisation. Over 4 lakh seed-balls were sowed at Muthathi stretching around 12 km deep inside. Over 100 NSS volunteers, officers, staff of JSS University and Maharani’s College Mysuru participated.

The activity was initiated with a brief talk on concept of seed-ball by Ashvin of Vruksha Ropana, who briefly explained the concept of seed-ball and how the seed-balls were prepared.

Dr. K.L. Krishna, NSS Programme Coordinator of JSS University, briefed about the programme and asked volunteers to actively participate.

Praveen Kumar, Forest Officer, Muthathi Forest and his team, NSS Programme Officers Dr. M.P. Gowrav, Dr. D. Sunil Kumar, Dr. Raghu Ram Achar, Manonmani, Dr. Jagadish, Dr. H.V. Gangadharappa, and Hemanth were present.
