National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research to impart training to faculty

Mysore/Mysuru: JSS Polytechnic for the Differently Abled (JSSPDA), Mysuru, has entered into an MoU with National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR), Ministry of Education, Government of India, Chennai, with the objective of imparting training to the teachers of technical institutions in emerging technological areas.

 The scope of this MoU is to train the faculty members of Polytechnics in the areas of Pedagogy, Curriculum Development, Question paper setting, Continuous Assessment practices, Evaluation Methodology, Academic Audit, Accreditation etc.

With this MoU, the Polytechnic teachers are benefited in terms of capacity building, curriculum enhancement, faculty development and also development of curriculum accessible to differently abled students exclusively for the hearing impaired. 

The MoU also focused on faculty and student exchange between the two institutions, scope for academic research, working with industries, consultancy, project works, exchange of academic information, scholarly information, materials & publications and arranging joint conferences / workshops in the areas of mutual interest.

The MoU was signed by B. Elangovan, Principal, JSSPDA and Prof. Usha Natesan, Director, NITTTR, in the presence of Dr. H.R. Mahadevaswamy, Joint Director, TED, JSS Mahavidyapeetha on June 3.

JSS Polytechnic for the Differently Abled is the first and only Polytechnic in the country offering Technical education at Diploma level exclusively for the differently abled.  JSSPDA has well defined infrastructure suitable for differently abled students and qualified human resources.   

National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research was established as an autonomous institute by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, in 1964 to improve the quality of technical and vocational education in Southern region.
