Mysore/Mysuru: JSS Rangotsava-2023, a three-day theatre festival, will take place at JSS Women’s College in Saraswathipuram from Nov.27 to 29.
Rajyotsava awardee P. Gangadharaswamy will inaugurate the theatre fest at 10.30 am on Nov. 27.
JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath will preside. Kannada and Culture Assistant Director Dr. M.D. Sudarshan will be the chief guest on the occasion.
On the first day (Nov.27), students of JSS Public School, J.P. Nagar, will enact ‘Kuhu Kuhoo Kogile’ play. The play is scripted by Manjunath Belakere.
On the second day (Nov.28), students of JSS Degree College in Nanjangud will perform S. Ramnath’s play ‘Shoonya’.
On the third and concluding day (Nov.29), students of Hullahalli JSS Kannada and English Medium High School will stage ‘Chennabhyradevi’ play, scripted by Dr.Gajanana Sharma.
All the plays will be staged twice on the specified days (11 am and 3 pm).
The valedictory function will take place at 2 pm on Nov. 29. Senior theatre artiste Rajashekar Kadamba will deliver the valedictory address. Folk scholar U.S. Ramanna will preside, according to a press release.
