Mysore/Mysuru: Renowned Musician Prof. R. Vishweshwaran conferred the prestigious ‘Sangeeta Vidyanidhi’ award on Vidwan Anand and ‘Sangeeta Seva Nidhi’ award on Vidwan Aravind Hebbar, instituted by JSS Sangeetha Sabha Trust at the valedictory of the 5-day 28th Music festival organised under the joint aegis of JSS Sangeetha Sabha Trust, JSS Mahavidyapeetha and Kannada and Culture Department at JSS Women’s College in Saraswathipuram here recently.
Speaking on the occasion, Vidwan Prof. Vishweswaran said that the JSS Sangeetha Sabha Trust has been organising the Musical event for the past 28 years and every year, the two awards are given to renowned musicians from across the country.
Pointing out that Vidwan A.V. Anand, who presided over this year’s JSS musical event was conferred with ‘Sangeetha Vidyanidhi’ award and Vidwan Aravind Hebbar, who hails from coastal region of the State was conferred with ‘Sangeetha Sevanidhi’award, he said that music is always a refreshing one for everyone.
He also said that the JSS Sangeetha Sabha is perhaps the only Trust to have hosted five Music events in a year in the State.
Vidwans Mysore M. Nagaraj and Dr. Mysore Manjunath and others were present.
Earlier, Sampagodu Vighnaraju presented a music concert which enthralled the audience. He was accompanied by Mattur R. Srinidhi on violin, Vidwans A.V. Anand on mridanga and C.P. Vyasa Vittala on khanjira.
