JSS Science and Technology Varsity gets DSIR-SIRO recognition

Mysore/Mysuru: JSS Science and Technology University, Mysuru, has been recognised as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

The SIRO status enables JSS Science and Technology University to conduct indigenous research more effectively by providing exemptions from customs duty on research-related equipment, spares, accessories and consumables. This not only boosts the University’s credibility within the scientific community but also facilitates increased support from government bodies and funding agencies for various research projects.

This recognition empowers faculty members and students to engage in cutting-edge research, addressing societal challenges and contributing to national development goals.

Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha  and Dr. B. Suresh, Director of Technical Education, highlighted the potential of this recognition to inspire further excellence in research. Prof. A.N. Santosh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor and Dr. S.A. Dhanaraj, Registrar, expressed their gratitude for DSIR recognition, marking it as a significant milestone in the Varsity’s dedication to research.
