Mysuru: JSS Science & Technology University (SJCE) has signed an MoU with Mercedes Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) to encourage female students to take up Mechanical branch in Engineering stream. The company sponsored 12 female students by providing scholarship of Rs. 1,00,000 each to 1st and 2nd year students from Industrial Production and Mechanical Engineering streams.
Mercedes encourages female students to take up Mechanical and other allied branches as their chosen career for adding diversity to their workforce and also for the development of selected female students through various interventions like internships, mentoring and other programmes.
Additionally, these selected students will get an opportunity to work with MBRDI as Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) through this programme.
SJCE alumni Prasanna Gonuguntla (Sr. Vice President) and Harshavardhan Kundalkar (Deputy General Manager – Human Resources), Mercedes Benz Research and Development India, were present to sign the MoU.
Dr. B.G. Sangamaeshwar – Vice-Chancellor, JSS Science & Technology University, Dr. Lokesh – Registrar of the University and Dr. T. N. Naghabushan- Principal, SJCE were present along with Pradeep – Placement Officer of SJCE.
