Mysuru: K.B. Lingaraju was elected as the President while R. Anand was elected as Vice-President of Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) for the year 2022-23 in the elections held yesterday.
Lingaraju, who bagged 331 votes, defeated his rival M.G. Byndoor, who secured just 19 votes. R. Anand (359 votes) won the Vice-President’s post by defeating Chaya Nanjappa, who could manage to get just 11 votes. A.K. Shivajirao (319 votes) was elected as Hon. Secretary, defeating C.M. Subramanian (19 votes).
Vinod Jain (306 votes) was elected as Joint Secretary, defeating Suresh Kumar Jain (30 votes) and S.J. Ashok (311 votes) was elected as Treasurer defeating N. Satish (19 votes).
Also, S. Achyutha (357), M.C. Bhansali (339), C.K. Ganesh (330), N.H. Jayanth (345), P. Kumar (300), S. Kumaraswamy (299), S. Mahadeva (300), C. Narayanagowda (333), R.N. Ramesh (277), K.T. Shyamasundar (319), Srishaila Ramannavar (310) and R.M. Srivatsa (285) were elected to the Executive Committee.
Earlier, Radhakrishna Shastry, D. Padmanabha and B.S. Ravindrakumar were elected unopposed to the Executive Committee. A.S. Satish was the Returning Officer.
Meanwhile, a section of MCCI members boycotted the elections citing various irregularities in the conduct of elections.
