Mysuru: A team of cricketers from Krishnaraja (K.R.) Constituency, led by MLA T.S. Srivatsa, won the MLA Cup Cricket Tournament organised by Namma TV news channel in the city recently.
After playing two league-level matches, K.R. team and H.D. Kote team clashed in the semi-finals. Krishnaraja team won the toss and elected to bat, hitting a total of 67 runs in 6 overs. Chasing the target, H.D. Kote team lost by 2 runs, scoring 65 runs.
In the finals, K.R. team played against Nanjangud team and batted first, scoring 80 runs in 6 overs. Nanjangud team was able to hit only 58 runs. The winners, apart from receiving MLA Cup, pocketed Rs. 1 lakh cash prize.
Nanjangud MLA Darshan Dhruvanarayan and Chamaraja MLA K. Harishgowda distributed the trophy to MLA T.S. Srivatsa, captain of the winning team which included Hemanth, Keerthi, Vinay, Prithvi, Chandru, Madhuchandru, Harish, Preetham, Shanthi, Alok, Gaurav and Sharan.
K.R. Constituency BJP President Gopalraje Urs, Jayaram, Pradeep Kumar, K.J. Ramesh, Rakesh Gowda, Jogi Manju, Chetan, Khandesh, Madhusudhan, Maya Jagadish, Rajesh, Kishore, Girish Gowda and Nishanth were present.
