Mysuru: Abhivyakti Cultural Trust of Bengaluru is presenting “Kala Nirantanam,” a special programme of Classical Music, Dance and Dance-Drama on May 1 at 4.30 pm at Kalamandira in city.
Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar, Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra, Dr. Sharad Pandya and Vid. NSV Prasad will be the chief guests of the evening.
The cultural programmes will begin at 4.30 pm with a Bharatanatyam recital first by the students of Dr. Sharad Pandya and then by another group of artistes of Kalasandesha Prathisthana.
At 5.30 pm, the disciples of Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar will be presenting Karnatak Classical Music which will be followed by a Mega Dance Drama ‘Sundara Kanda’ depicting the divine journey of Hanuman. This is conceptualised, choreographed and directed by Kalayogi Guru S. Raghunandan.
The drama will be performed by 15 professionally trained dancers for the first time in Mysuru. In the lead roles are, S. Raghunandan as Hanuman, Manasi as Sita, Bhoomika as Rama, Raghunarayan as Ravana, Samhita as Indrajit, Bhavya as Vibhishana and Harshitha as Lankini.
