Kalavaibhav, Vastra Utsav opens at JSS Urban Haat

 JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr.C.G Betsurmath inaugurating Kalavaibhav at JSS Urban Haat in city yesterday.

Mysuru:  The Varamahalakshmi Fest is fast approaching and as part of the festival, Kalavaibhav – Vastra Utsav has been organised at JSS Urban Haat. The wide range of exclusive handicrafts and garments are available at discounted prices, said JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr.C.G Betsurmath.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Utsav at JSS Urban Haat on Ring Road in Hebbal Industrial Area, here yesterday and said that the ten-day festival from Aug.10 to Aug.19 is a good opportunity for Mysureans and other tourists visiting the city to shop. The exhibition is open from  10 am to 9 pm.

The Utsav is organised by the Department of Industries and Commerce, Bengaluru and District Industries Centre, Mysuru.

More than 80 crafts persons, weavers, Co-operative Societies, Micro Industries from all over the country are displaying their products in a rural ambience and demonstrating their skill. In short the ‘Craft Bazaar’ showcases an amazing range of handicrafts under one roof. It tells stories from the heart of rural India through its textiles, pottery and jewellery.

The items on display include Punjabi Phulkari, Patiala suits, Bastar iron craft from Madhya Pradesh, horn products, grass mats, curtains, Jaipur kurthas and raprons, Kanjivaram silk sarees, Kashmir handlooms, wood carving and furniture from Saharanpur, Gujarat dress, dry flower, all kinds of leather items, jute products, artificial imitation jewellery, gem stone, Channaptna toys and other handicrafts and handloom items.
