Mysore/Mysuru: The 534th Kanakadasa Jayanti will be celebrated in a grand manner at Kaginele Kanakaguru Peetha Shakha Mutt at Siddarthanagar in city on Nov. 22 after 11 am.
Announcing this at a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here on Friday, Kanakadasa Jayanthotsava Samithi General Secretary M. Puttaswamy (Bank Puttaswamy) said that in the wake of Model Code of Conduct for MLC polls, the District Administration will be celebrating the Jayanti in a simple manner at Kalamandira on the morning of Nov.22. In this backdrop, the Samithi will be conducting the Jayanti in a grand manner at Kanakaguru Shaka Mutt after the conclusion of the District Administration programme, he pointed out.
Stating that the programme at Siddarthanagar will take place after 11 am on Monday, Puttaswamy said that Shakha Mutt Seer Sri Shivanandapuri Swamiji and other community leaders will pay floral tributes to the portrait of Saint Kanakadasa. Several other programmes will also be held as part of the event, he added. The Samithi office-bearers B. Krishnappa, Chowhalli Puttaswamy and J. Mahadevappa, former Corporator M.K. Shankar and others were present at the press meet.
