Bengaluru: Vyasanakere Prabhanjanacharya of Ballari has been chosen for the prestigious ‘Kanakashri’ award this year, given as part of Saint Kanakadasa Jayanti.
Announcing this here on Friday, Minister for Backward Classes and Kannada and Culture Shivaraj Tangadagi said Prabhanjanacharya will be conferred the award by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during the Kanakadasa Jayanti celebrations to take place at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru today.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh, a bust of Kanakadasa and a citation.
