Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha is restarting its activity after a brief halt due to the pandemic. Accordingly a musical programme will be held on Sept. 13 (Monday) at 6 pm at the Sabha premises on JLB Road.
Kanchana Sisters Sri Ranjani and Sruti Ranjani will present a vocal duet in the T.V. Srinivasan Memorial Concert sponsored by Nagarajan Srinivasan on that day. They will be accompanied by Pradeshachar on violin, K.U. Jayachandra Rao on mridanga and G.S. Ramanujan on ghata.
Kanchana Sisters are among the most sought after duet vocalists in the classical music sphere today. They were elected to be on the esteemed Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) panel of artistes and have been performing on prestigious platforms in India and abroad.
They hail from a family of musicians who were Tamil Iyers and had settled in Bajathur village in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka. Besides being the toppers of their University in LLB (law) degree, both followed music as their passion and profession and are ‘A’ graded artistes in All India Radio (AIR).
