Kannada evaluators stage protest

Mysuru: Kannada Language Evaluators of University of Mysore staged a demonstration in front of Crawford Hall here on Wednesday last demanding consideration of seniority among the evaluators in grading.

Addressing the protestors, Vidyavardhaka First Grade College Kannada Department Head Dr. Dhananjaya Palahalli said that hitherto there was no classification of UGC and Non-UGC among evaluators.

But now, seniority criteria has been dropped and only those with UGC lectureship are being considered for evaluation from this academic year, which is not correct, he said.

Highlighting the role of non-UGC lecturers in the growth of the University, he demanded consideration of service seniority in evaluation and to do away with the new UGC-Non-UGC classification.
