Kannada Odugara Okkoota interacts with TV artiste

Mysore/Mysuru: Kannada Odugara Okkoota, under the guidance of Shubha Sanjay Urs, Chairperson of Mysuru  Book Clubs-2015, celebrated Women’s Day at The Green Hotel in city. On the occasion, Deepa Ravishankar, a well-known theatre actress, writer and TV artiste, interacted with Book Club members. Deepa traced her journey of her career on the stage which began when she was five years old when she played a lead role in a children’s play ‘Panjarada Hakki’ in Shivamogga. Her parents were both theatre enthusiasts and they were the pioneers in establishing the theatre group “Abhinaya’ in Shivamogga.

Deepa grew up in and around the stage and developed a passion for acting.

Later her work arena took her to Bengaluru and from there to Mysuru. Since 2010 she has been acting in Kannada serials and for five years she has written a column titled ‘TV mane Kathe’ in a Kannada daily in which she candidly discussed the good and bad aspects of TV channels and their programmes.

Rani Manjunath welcomed. Nivedita proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. Sharada and Sudha Prasad honoured the chief guest on behalf of the Kannada Odugara Okkoota.
