Mysore/Mysuru: “The best way to offer our obeisance to Vedavyasa, who laid a strong foundation for a glorious Hindu society, is to ardently follow his ideologies,” said retired Health Officer G.K. Kulkarni.
He was speaking at Vyasa Jayanti function organised by the District Unit of Akhila Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad at BSS Vidyodaya School auditorium recently. Officer Kulkarni also released a Kannada book ‘Kannadada Kalpavruksha Teenam Srikantaiah’ written by Yogesh Theerthapura.
“Maharshi Vedavyasa worshipped Veda, Upanishads and our Mythologies. He can be regarded as a Guru of humanity,” said Kulkarni.
He also delivered a lecture on life and writings of Dattatraya Ramachandra Bendre (Da. Ra. Bendre) and said Bendre cannot be restricted to any particular form of writing. “Every literary work of Bendre is a Kalpavruksha. It is no exaggeration to say that Philosophy was a speciality of Bendre’s literature. His writings are laced with deep inner meanings. His literature deals with a person’s temptations,” added Kukarni.
Writer Yogesh Theerthapura, Maharshi PU College Sanskrit lecturer Vidwan Naryana Desai, Dr. P. Raghavendra Shetty, Parishat Vice-President B.K. Jagdish and Zonal leader Dr. V. Ranganath were present.
