Then head towards the special slush track prepared at “Agoli Manjanna Vedike” “Bakimar Kanda”, Vijayanagar 4th Stage near DMS College (behind Vijayanagar Bus Depot) on July 16 (tomorrow) for Kesarada Kandodu Onji Dina (a day in slush field) at 9 am.
People from Karavali (Dakshina Kannada) region, who are spread across the world, celebrate their traditional festivals and events at the places of their residences, far from their roots.
As part of this, Karavali Samskruthika Chavadi, Hootagalli, has planned to give people an opportunity to get a feel of and participate in slush track sports like running race, (for primary and high school students), volleyball, kabaddi, (for men) throwball (for women), ‘himmuka ota’ (backward race), three-legged race, tug-of-war (for both men and women) and brisk walking (for senior citizens). Residents of Mysuru who hail from Karavali region can participate
This is the second year that the Karavali Samskruthika Chavadi is organising such a festival in Mysuru. A traditional food mela has also been organised. ‘Chande Mela’ programme by Chande Mela Kala Sangha, Mysuru has been organised.
