Karnatak music concert at Ganabharathi on Dec. 29

Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised a Karnatak vocal music concert by Vid. Sringeri H. S. Nagaraj on Dec.29 at its Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar at 6 pm. He will be accompanied by Vid. C. A. Nataraj on violin, Vid. P. S. Sridhar on mridanga and Vid. Srirambhat on khanjira.

Profile: Born to Shankarabhat and Saraswathamma, Vid. Sringeri H. S. Nagaraj was intiated to music by his mother and later was groomed by Vid. H. Ramanath (disciple of Vid. Maharajapuram Vishwanatha Iyer) and Vid. Prasanna Venkatesh.

Having secured 2nd rank in Vidwat examination he has been a very active personality as a guru and an organiser. Having a teaching experience for four decades he has trained students both in India and USA. He has been a resource person as well as an accomplished organiser who has been instrumental in conducting a National-level Veena Saptaha, Workshop on Rare Krithis of the Trinity etc.

He has to his credit various CDs on Haridasas and Bhagavan Sri Satya Saibaba. He has also given his music direction to several dramas and operas.  Being a seasoned artiste, he is the Founder-Principal of Sri Guruguha Sangeetha Mahavidyalaya established in 1976, which has branches both inside and outside in Karnataka.  He has been honoured with Kanchi Kamakoti Peetha Asthana Vidwan-2013, Vidyathi Vatsalya Varidhi, Malenada Naada Sthamba, Sangeetha Darshanika and Sangeetha Visharada awards.
