Karnatak Vocal Concert at Ganabharathi

Mysore/Mysuru: Ganabharathi, Mysuru, has organised a Karnatak Vocal Concert by Vidu. Dhathri H. Kumar at Veene Seshanna Bhavana (Ganabharathi) in Kuvempunagar tomorrow (Aug. 1) at 6 pm. She will be accompanied by Vid. Amogh Nadadur on violin and Vid. B.S. Anand on mridanga.

Profile: Vidu. Dhathri H. Kumar began her musical journey at the tender age of 5 under the guidance of Vid. Venkatachalaiah in Hassan, training for six formative years. She then pursued further training under the accomplished Sangeetha Kalaratna Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar in Mysuru for seven years. She has undergone rigorous training in Chennai as a devoted disciple under the legendary Sangeetha Kalanidhi Neyveli R. Santhanagopalan. Presently, she is undergoing rigorous training under the tutelage of Padma Shri awardee Vid. R.N. Thyagarajan, continuing her pursuit of excellence in Karnatak music.

A graded artiste of All India Radio (AIR), Dhathri is celebrated for her versatile singing style, energetic stage presence, and deep-rooted classicism. She has performed at numerous prestigious venues across India. Her performances have consistently received appreciation from rasikas and organisers alike for her strict adherence to pataanthara, deep bhava, melodious alapana, excellence in neraval, and soothing swaraprasthara.
