Mysuru’s Prasiddhi Bhat finishes seventh
Ananya Arumbakkam, Swara Lakshmi S. Nair and AIM V. Renganayaki (all from Bengaluru) tied with 7.5 points from nine rounds, but based on her better tie-break score of 56.5, Ananya won the title, in the Shree Narayana Guru Trophy, Karnataka State U-13 Girls – FIDE Rated Chess Championship held at Sri Hale Maariyamma Sadha Graha, Kapu in Udupi recently.
Bengaluru’s Bagyashree G. Patil (7 points) finished fourth while Mandya’s WCM A.N. Shefali (7 points) finished fifth.
WCM Shiranya S. Mallya (Dakshina Kannada) with 7 points finished sixth. Mysuru’s Prasiddhi Bhat with 6.5 points secured seventh place.
Mysuru’s upcoming players — M.N. Eshanvi (6 points), Sharadhi Shastry (6 points), Dhatri Umesh (5.5 points), Yashika R. Joshi (5 points), Diya Umesh (3 points), Yuvalaxitha (3 points) and Nisargashree (3 points) — fared well.
