Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka Ursu Mahamandali Charitable (KUMC) Trust, Thyagaraja Road, Fort Mohalla, Mysuru, has organised Kannada Rajyotsava and Ursu Janangada Yuvajanotsava tomorrow at 10.30 am at Rama Govinda Rangamandira in Ramakrishnanagar here.
MLA T.S. Srivatsa will inaugurate the celebrations. Dr. Pradhan Gurudutta, retired Professor of Kannada, Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies, Mysuru, will be the main speaker. Dr. Ramaraje Urs, Lions Club Governor, Bengaluru, Shubha Sanjay Urs, Founder-Chairperson of Mysuru Book Clubs and Adarsha B. Urs (USA)will be the chief guests.
M.L. Basavaraje Urs, Hon. President, KUMC Trust and Dr. MGR Urs, Vice-President, will present on the occasion.
B.S. Sridhar Raje Urs, President, KUMC Trust will be preside.
KUMC Trust aims to organise two functions in a year — Rajyotsava-cum-Yuvajanotsava during November. Rajyotsava to remember D. Devaraja Urs, former CM of Karnataka, who was responsible for renaming Mysore State as Karnataka State. Yuvajanotsava for youths of the community to create awareness about the community, to guide them and to help the poor financially, if possible academically also.
The second function — a Conference of office-bearers of Ursu organisations in Karnataka and Life Members of the Trust during the first week of June every year, during the birth anniversary of Maharaja Rajarshi Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar falls.
