Mysuru: Karun Nair, the prolific batsman, who scored triple century against the England in Chennai last December, will be leading the Mysuru Warriors team in the upcoming Karbonn Smartphones Karnataka Premier League which is scheduled to begin on Sept. 1.
The 25-year-old batsman, who will be leading the India ‘A’ in the two four-day test match series against South Africa ‘A’ in South Africa from Aug.12 to Aug. 22 is expected to join the Mysuru Warriors team on his return. Karun had also led the Delhi Daredevils team in the second leg of this year’s IPL.
Meanwhile, the rest of the team members will commence their practice session at the SJCE Grounds from Aug. 14. Two of their players J. Suchith and Shreyas Gopal will joined the team after playing out their respective matches in the ongoing Dr. K. Thimmappaiah Tournament organised by KSCA. Apart from players who were picked in the auction, the short listed 12 players from the talent hunt will also take part in the practice session in which two players will be selected to represent the Mysuru Warriors in this year’s KPL.
The Mysuru Warriors, owned by city-based N.R. Group, has continued with the Rx Murali as the Head Coach and Vijay Madyalkar as Assistant Coach. Shyam Rao will be Trainer and Raghavendra will work as his assistant. Dr. Shravan has been appointed as Team Physio and Mohan Das as Assistant Physio. Naresh Matla will be the Team Masseur. The team management has also appointed M.S. Ravindra as the Talent Manager. M.R. Suresh will be Team Manager and N. Arun Kumar will be Logistics Manager.
