Kasaragod: Two dolls from the internationally renowned Sri Gopalakrishna Yakshagana Bombeyaata Sangha, Kasaragod, has been selected to be displayed at a museum in America.
The dolls will be displayed at the Centre for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, California. The museum here has dolls from various countries representing their culture. The two dolls, Dushasana and Abhimanyu, which represent the most beautiful Yakashagana art form from the Karavali region in Karnataka has found a place in the museum.
Association Director and Pradhana Sutradara K.V. Ramesh has designed the dolls and President of UNIMA (International Puppetry Association) Dadi Pudmjee has transported the dolls to the museum.
Sri Gopalakrishna Yakshagana Bombeyaata Sangha has performed several shows all round the world and has been a recipient of many awards. The dolls designed under the guidance of Ramesh are very attractive and has lot of demand.
Besides, the Kasaragod Yakashagana dolls are displayed in many museums including in countries like Poland, Turkey, Pakistan, China, Germany, Australia, Czechoslovakia and Indonesia.
