Grand Master (GM) M.S. Thejkumar of South Western Railways (SWR), Mysuru and M.G. Gahan tied with seven points from seven rounds, but the former’s better progressive tie-break score of 34.50 to the latter’s 34, helped Thejkumar to clinch the title in the Kashvi Chadurangotsava – Karnataka State-level Open Rapid Chess Tournament held at Kundapura on Feb.3.
