Mysuru: As part of Swachata Abhiyan, Scouts and Guides students of Kautilya Vidyalaya will take up cleaning work atop Chamundi Hill tomorrow (July 13).
The cleaning work is taken up with an objective of sensitising the children on environmental protection and civic sense. The theme of the initiative is ‘A healthy society from a hygienic society’.
The cleaning work will begin from the Chamundi Hill footsteps at 8am, during which the students will hold an interaction with the hill residents, vendors, priests and staff of the temple and the chief of the temple management.
The students will also collect data on management and disposal of wastes atop the hill. The students will also gather information on the level of success of plastic ban, whether the Dasoha Bhavan is free from plastics, to what extend the devotees visiting the hill temple are discarding plastic usage and other such issues.
Under the theme ‘A healthy society from a hygienic society, the Kautilya students belonging to Scouts & Guides, cubs and Bulbul groups, recently conducted a survey in one part of the city and gathered information on hygiene and cleanliness. Now the students in their second mission, will collect data pertaining to Chamundi Hill and submit a report in this regard to the Deputy Commissioner.
