‘Kayaka Yogi Basavashri’ awards conferred

Mysore/Mysuru: Janasevaka Yuva Brigade honoured achievers in various fields with ‘Kayaka Yogi Basavashri’ awards at a function held at Sri Ganapathi Temple auditorium in Nivedithanagar here recently.

The awardees include Prof. Sadhana Shanbagh (Education), S.G. Girish (Medical), Mahendra Singh Kalappa (Environment), R. Mahesh Kumar (Organisation). The awards were presented by Medical Writer and Suyog Hospital Chairman Dr. S.P. Yoganna.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Yoganna said that Basavanna, being the first spiritual guru of Karnataka, fought against social evils apart from establishing Anubhava Mantapa for a casteless society.

“Basavanna, a true cultural leader, not only guided the society towards spiritualism through his vachanas but also contributed to the field of medicine,” he said.

Mysuru Hotel Owners Association President C. Narayanagowda, BJP leader Arun Kumar Gowda, Vivekananda Institute Chairperson Savitha Gowda, Janasevaka Yuva Brigade President D. Raghavendra, KMPK Trust President Vikram Iyengar, Sridhar, Praveen Kumar, Mahadevaswamy, Nanjundaswamy, Spandana, Chandrashekar Patil, Raksha Prabhu were present.
