KCA hosts programme for hearing-impaired children

As part of their Social and Cultural Responsibility, Konkani Christian Association (KCA), Mysuru, had organised a programme titled ‘To be with Hearing Impaired Children’ at Konkan Bhavan in Vijayanagar 2nd Stage here this morning. The event was inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr. Cyprian Monis, Bishop of Asansol Diocese in the Ecclesiastical Province of Calcutta.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Chamaraja MLA Vasu said that he would give top priority in the allotment of CA sites for organisations willing to establish special children school in Chamaraja Assembly segment.

Underlining the importance of taking all Government benefits and facilities to the doorstep of specially-abled children, Vasu observed that children will be amply benefited by programmes like this. He further said that such events give a golden opportunity for specially-abled children to showcase their hidden talents.

Special achiever Sabitha Monis was felicitated on the occasion.

KCA President Vincent Crasto presented cheques for Rs. 50,000 each to three special children schools of the city — Mercy Convent, Sairanga and Don Bosco Schools. The event featured a variety of cultural shows by hearing impaired children.

KCA Gen. Secretary John William D’Souza, Treasurer John Leo Rebello and others were present during the programme.
