Dasara Expo-2019 meeting on June 19
Mysuru: With Dasara just a couple of months away, Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) Chairman Abdul Azeez inspected the Dasara Exhibition Grounds recently.
Desilting of the huge drain and clearing of shrubs in the premises to make way for erecting the expo stalls and other related works were covered under the inspection.
Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Deputy Mayor Shafi Ahmed, KEA CEO B.R. Girish, Manager Reddappa and MCC staff were also part of the delegation that undertook the inspection. The officials concerned were instructed to complete all the works on time.
Speaking to the media, Abdul Azeez said that the huge storm water drain has already been partially desilted by MCC and will be completed soon. He added that all other drains would be cleared of any blockage to ensure smooth flow of water. He expressed confidence that there would be no problem of inundation this time even if it rains heavily unlike last year.
Pushpalatha Jagannath said that the desilting of the big drain would be completed in another few days. She added that desilting of other storm water drains in city have been 70% cleared.
Earlier to the inspection, Abdul Azeez was felicitated by Islam religious leaders of other States.
JD(S) leaders M.N. Ramu, K.V. Mallesh, Syed Rehmat and others were present.
Meeting on June 19
Abdul Azeez announced that the KEA Managing Committee meeting will be held on June 19 to chalk out plans for the Dasara Expo-2019.
