New Delhi: Noted Kannada writer Lakshmisha Tolpadi has been selected for the prestigious Kendra Sahitya Academy Award for the year 2023.
He has been selected for the award for his book ‘Mahabharata Anusandhanada Bharatayatre.’ The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh and a citation.
Lakshmisha Tolpadi, a native of Shantigodu village in Puttur taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, has many works to his credit including his debut work titled ‘Mahayuddhakke Munna.’
Apart from Lakshmisha Tolpadi, 23 authors of other languages too have been selected for the award. The award will be conferred at a programme to take place in New Delhi on Mar. 12, 2024.
The selection panel (for Kannada section) comprised senior writers Nagesh Hegde, Anand Jhanjarwad and J.N. Tejashri.
