New Delhi: Senior Linguistic Scholar and Researcher Prof. K.V. Narayana (Prof. K.V.N) has been chosen for the prestigious Kendra Sahitya Academy Award for the year 2024.
A native of Kampalapura in Periyapatna taluk of Mysuru district, Prof. Narayana was selected for the award for his work ‘Nudigala Alivu.’
Kendra Sahitya Academy President Madhav Kaushik announced the list of awardees for 21 languages including Prof. K.V.N for Kannada, in the national capital recently.
The award, comprising a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh and a citation, will be conferred on him at a programme to take place at New Delhi on Mar.8, 2025.
Noted writers O.L. Nagabhushanaswamy, Halemane Rajashekar and Sarjoo Katkar were the juries for Kannada section.
Prof. Narayana was the first Registrar of Hampi Kannada University when it came to existence in 1993 and had played key role in the growth of the University. He had also served as Chairman of Kuvempu Bhasha Bharathi Authority.
