Mysore/Mysuru: After over seven years of service in the city-based Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Khader Pasha, the Finance Officer at KSOU, has been relieved of his post on Friday, on charges of financial irregularities and functional lapses.
He has been relieved following a letter written by Sheetal M. Hiremath, Under-Secretary of Higher Education Department, to KSOU Vice-Chancellor and Registrar on Nov.7.
Pasha’s sudden relieving also comes after the Letters Committee of the State Legislature, which met on Oct.27, recommended his immediate relieving and holding a detailed departmental enquiry against.
Khader Pasha had been serving as KSOU Finance Officer for over 7 years on deputation from the Finance Department of the State Government. He has been accused of financial irregularities in respect of University building works, tender process, admission fees, exam fees etc., and also his failure to get auditing done.
KSOU VC Prof. Sharanappa V. Halase said that Pasha has been relieved as the University Finance Officer following his transfer by the Government. The University will submit records and with it the report that is asked by the State Finance Department, he added.
