Kidnappers sent to three years jail

Mysuru: The 5th Additional District Court has sentenced eight accused, after finding them guilty in kidnap and extortion case of father-son duo, to three year rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000 each. In case of fine amount not paid, the accused shall serve two months simple imprisonment.

Those found guilty have been identified as Hemanth Kumar  (20), resident of Padmanabhanagar, Bengaluru; Keerthi Kumar (21), Kaggere Village, Tumarku; Kishore Kumar (22), resident of Hampinagar, Vijayanagar in Bengaluru; Hemanth Kumar (22), resident of Kavitha Layout, Bengaluru; Rajesh (21), resident of Amrutahalli, Bytarayanapura in Bengaluru; K.V. Charan (23), Kempegowdanagar, Bengaluru; Praveen (25), resident of Tavaradevarakoppal, Hassan and Venkatesh (31), resident of Kaggere Village, Tumkauru.

It may be recalled that all eight accused had kidnapped one Mohan and his son Tushar on Oct.13, 2019 from Chethan Clinic, on Paramahamsa Road in Yadavgiri in VV Puram limits, where they had come for                             treatment and had demanded ransom. 

ACP (NR Divison) A.K. Suresh and Police Inspectors Arun Nagegowda, H.M. Mahadevappa, C.T. Jayakumar, Dhananjaya and PSI Guruprasad conducted a thorough investigation and had arrested the accused and had submitted a chargesheet to the Court. 

The Court after the hearing the case, pronounced the judgment finding all accused guilty of kidnap and extortion.
