Mysuru: Kisan Adhikara Yatra, organised by Rishtriya Kisan Mahasangh on a mission from Kashmir to Kanyakumari demanding a fair deal for farmers, arrived in city this morning.
The Yatra was welcomed at a function organised by Farmers Associations at Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Asharam on Nanjangud Road.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Ganapathy Swamiji said that the farmers were the backbone of the country. He regretted that farmers were committing suicides and urged the government to help farmers on top priority. State Sugarcane Growers Association President Kurubur Shantakumar and Yatra Convenors from across the country were present.
