Bengaluru: Following charges of corruption, Kodihalli Chandrashekar has been sacked as President of KRRS (Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha) and Hasiru Sene, with immediate effect.
The decision to sack Chandrashekar was taken at an emergency meeting convened by the KRRS at Shivamogga on Tuesday, during which senior farmer leader H.R. Basavarajappa was elected as the new President of the farmer body.
Kodihalli Chandrashekar, who took the lead in the State-wide KSRTC employees stir held last year (April 2021), has been accused of taking a huge bribe for ending the stir.
Speaking after being elected as the new President of KRRS and Hasiru Sene, Basavarajappa said that Kodihalli Chandrashekar was asked to quit on his own after serious bribe charges surfaced against him. But he remained adamant saying he would not quit the post, following which he was sacked, he said adding that there is no place for corruption and bribe in KRRS.
