Kolhapur wrestler wins ‘Suttur Kesari’ crown

Nanjangud: Kolhapur Wrestler Sheik won the ‘Suttur Kesari’ crown at the 38th National Wrestling Competition organised as part of Suttur Jathra yesterday. He defeated Ravichandra of Vijayapura.

The ‘Suttur Kumara’ honour was bagged by Praveen Chakravarthy of Ganjam who defeated Kishore Purohit of Mysuru.

Chottu Pervez of Mysuru won the ‘Jathrotsava Kusthi’ award defeating Gajanana of  Jamakhandi.

About 48 matches were conducted in the competition.

The prizes ware given away to the winners by former Minister and State BJP Vice-President V. Sreenivasa Prasad and District Rural BJP President   M. Shivanna.

Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Marithibbegowda inaugurated a Garadi Mane at Suttur built at a cost of Rs.10. lakh.
