Mysore/Mysuru: In a bid to increase the green cover in city by planting one crore saplings and nurturing them, Koti Vruksha Pratishtana will be distributing free saplings to nature lovers, farmers and the public, said Pratishtana President Srikanth Bhat.
Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, Srikanth said that the Pratishtana has so far planted 50,000 saplings. There are 20,000 saplings of Peepal, Neem, Mango, Jackfruit, Mahagony, Honge and other varieties with the Pratishtana, he said and urged the public to get the saplings free and plant them besides nurturing the saplings.
He also urged those who obtain saplings to send the photos of the saplings planted by them every three months on WhatsApp No: 94805-05931 and also send a message to the same number if they need saplings. Pratishtana’s Parisara Chandru was present at the press meet.
