Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) has planned ‘Vidhana Soudha Chalo’ on Mar. 22 urging the Union Government to withdraw three farm laws which are detrimental to Indian farmers.
Addressing a news conference at Pathrakartara Bhavan recently, KRRS State President Badagalapura Nagendra said they would also urge the Union Government to extend Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme to coffee, tobacco, oil seeds, silk and pepper, and also announce a special package of Rs. 2 lakh crore to Karnataka.
Before this ‘Vidhana Soudha Chalo’, farmers’ convention would be held in all 150 taluks across the State and leaders of Samyukth Kisan Morcha would be invited.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been saying that 23 agricultural produces were purchased under MSP but in contrary in Karnataka, maize, groundnut and tur dal were purchased for less than the MSP. In view of this, the Sangha has planned ‘MSP Yellide Torisi’ (Show where is MSP) campaign across the nation.
The campaign would be launched during the first week of March and details would be announced later. Prof. Yogendra Yadav from Delhi has been invited for the inauguration, he added.
Relief for crop loss and tiger attack
He demanded Horticulture Department to undertake a survey to assess damage caused to the crops due to hailstones recently.
Besides, the menace of tiger has been reported in parts of Mysuru and Kodagu districts. The big cat must be nabbed and those who lost life in wild animal attack should be given Rs. 50 lakh compensation.
