KRS Road from Mysuru Ring Road Junction needs immediate repairs

Sir,

I am currently residing at Chamundeshwari Railway Layout, near JK Tyre on KRS Road, Shyadanahalli village near Ekalavyanagar. I wish to draw your immediate attention to the rapidly deteriorating condition of the stretch from the Ring Road Junction to Sunanda Factory.

The turn to the layout entrance has also become difficult due to bad road conditions.

This particular stretch has become severely damaged, with multiple potholes posing a grave threat to commuters.

Numerous accidents, some resulting in permanent disabilities and even loss of life, have occurred due to these poor road conditions.

As this road serves as a major route leading to the prestigious KRS Dam and the world-famous Brindavan Gardens, it witnesses heavy traffic daily, including tourists from all over India. The current state of the road tarnishes the image of Mysuru and endangers public safety.

Moreover, the bottleneck near JK Tyre — extending about 300 metres in front of the main gate — has worsened due to unauthorised shops encroaching on the road and the parking of heavy lorries belonging to JK Tyre.

Additionally, poor rainwater drainage near the Kodagalli petrol pump has further deteriorated the road condition. This has drastically narrowed the stretch, making it extremely difficult for larger vehicles like lorries and buses to pass smoothly, thereby increasing congestion and the risk of accidents.

This has drastically narrowed the road, making it extremely difficult for larger vehicles like lorries and buses to pass smoothly, increasing congestion and the risk of accidents.

Another major concern is the complete absence of streetlights along the stretch from the Ring Road Junction to KRS. The lack of proper lighting at night, combined with poor road conditions, poses a serious safety threat, particularly to women riding two-wheelers.

Several educational institutions, including GSSS Women’s College and Hostel, Mahajana’s Pooja Bhagwat College and SIMHA Subbalakshmi College, are situated along this road. Many female students commute here daily, and their safety and security must be treated with utmost priority.

In light of the above, I request the authorities to:

1. Instruct the concerned departments to take up urgent asphalting and repair of the damaged road.

2. Take necessary steps to remove unauthorised encroachments near JK Tyre for smoother traffic flow.

3. Install adequate street lighting along the stretch to ensure the safety of all commuters, especially women and students.
