A splendid unbeaten 200 n.o. (21×4, 5×6) by middle-order batsman Vishnu Priyan, enabled Mysore University Colleges Sports Council (MUCSC) to gain the vital first innings points in their drawn two-day First Division League tie played against Mysore Cricket Club at the JSS-SJCE Grounds here recently.
Batting first, Mysore CC were bowled out for 135 in 43.2 overs. Varun (48) was the top scorer. N. Shreyas (4 for 41) was the main wicket-taker for MUCSC. In reply, MUCSC scored 343 for eight declared in 84 overs. Vishnu Priyan (200 n.o.), Rohit Kumar (53), L. Hemanth Kumar (39) were amongst the run-scorers. M. Naveen and Ashok Kumar were the wicket-takers for MUCSC.
In the second innings, MCC scored 262 for 6 in 49 overs and the match ended in a draw. Varun (72 n.o., 15×4), Pranay (53), Shivaprasad (43), M. Naveen (32 n.o.) were the scorers. N.J.Gowtham took three for 78 for MUCSC. From the drawn encounter, MUCSC secured three points and MCC one.
