KSCA XI surrenders first innings lead

KSCA XI suffered hiccups in their batting performance with their middle-order batsman failing to click and were bowled out for 255 in 92.5 overs in their first innings by Andhra CA on the second day of the semi-finals of the Dr. Capt. K. Thimmappiah Memorial Cricket Tournament-2019 played at KSCA-Alur Grounds yesterday.

Andhra CA secured the first innings lead of 38-runs. After a decent start by KSCA XI openers, R. Samarth (56) and D. Nischal (48), who added 91-runs for the opening wicket, KSCA XI’s batsmen faltered to capitalise on the good start and failed to play a longer innings.

Skipper Karun Nair (35) and K.V. Siddarth (79) batted well to add a vital 104-runs for the fourth wicket and consolidated the position, but after the fall of their wickets, the other batsman failed to contribute and KSCA XI were bowled out for 255 runs.

At close of play, Andhra CA were reeling at four for two in five overs, with Prasidh M. Krishna and J. Suchith taking a wicket each for KSCA XI.

An interesting day’s play is in the offing with both the teams keen to grab the initiative.
