KSIC extends Dasara discount on silk sarees

Mysuru: The Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation Limited (KSIC) has extend the 25% discount offer on  silk sarees till Oct. 20. KSIC had originally planned to offer discount only till Dasara festivities (Sept.30).

MLA M.K. Somashekar, who is also the Chairman of KSIC, said that the discount was available at all the KSIC showrooms across Karnataka including Mysuru. Apart from Mysuru Silk Factory, the KSIC showrooms in Mysuru are located at Indiranagar near Zoo, at K.R. Circle and Garuda Mall in Makkaji Chowk.

Sarees for middle class : Somashekar further said that the KSIC would soon introduce sarees for middle class and lower middle class sections of society. These will cost Rs. 3,000 and above, but will not have golden and silver borders, he added.

Rs. 10 crore turnover:  According to KSIC, more than 8,000 sarees were sold in the past few weeks after the special discount was introduced, resulting in a turnover of over Rs. 10 crore.

Meanwhile, the sales target for the year is Rs. 185 crore, according to Krishnappa, General Manager of KSIC.

He has appealed the public to buy the products only from official KSIC showrooms and not fall for substandard products sold elsewhere.
