KSOU distributes 2,000 masks to vegetable vendors on M.G. Road

Mysore/Mysuru: About 50 staff members of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vidyashankar, distributed masks and sanitisers besides creating awareness on COVID-19 to vegetable and fruit vendors and also to the general public at the vegetable and fruit market on M.G. Road here this morning.

A few days ago, Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala, during a video conference, had asked VC Prof. Vidyashankar to extend help in the fight against COVID-19, to which, the VC had replied that the KSOU had given its entire building for the establishment of Covid Care Centre besides telling the Governor that KSOU would create awareness among the public and distribute masks and sanitisers to them.

This morning, the KSOU staff, who visited the vendors on M.G. Road, distributed 2,000 face masks and sanitisers to 1,000 vendors and members of the public, besides urging them to follow COVID preventive steps such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and washing hands with soap frequently among others.

The VC was accompanied by Registrars Khadar Pasha and Mahadevan, VC’s Personal Secretary Devaraj, Deans Ashok, Kamble, Shyam, Shikha, Niranjan Kumar and others.
