Excellent performances by fourth-seed local-lad Arnav Pathange (KAR) and second-seed Sanjana Sirimalla (TEL) helped them to clinch a grand double winning the U-18 boys singles and girls singles titles respectively at the KTPPA-MTC AITA Championship Series Tennis Championship for U-18 (boys & girls) played at the MTC here yesterday. The duo has earlier won their respective doubles titles.
Playing an excellent baseline game Arnav Pathange shocked his brother and second seed Aryan Ashwath Pathange in two well contested sets 6-4, 7-5 and to win the double crown.
In the girls U-18 singles final, second seed Sanjana Sirimalla outsmarted the challenge from the top-seed P. Yashaswini Singh (MP) 6-1, 6-3 and completed a fine double.
