Mysuru: Accusing Chief Minister Siddharamaiah of arrogance, former CM and State JD(S) President H.D. Kumaraswamy has maintained that Siddharamaiah must be aware of the fact that spending huge amount of money would not bring him victory from Chamundeshwari Constituency in the forthcoming Assembly polls.
He was speaking after visiting temples at Mavinahalli in Jayapura hobli of the taluk yesterday.
Pointing out that G.T. Devegowda played a keyrole in Siddharamaiah’s first Assembly poll victory from Chamundeshwari Constituency in 1983, Kumaraswamy said that the CM is only arrogant when he says that no one had helped him in the poll.
Lashing out at Siddharamaiah’s five years of Governance as CM, the JD(S) leader said that Siddharamaiah cannot win the hearts of the people by spending crores of rupees.
Reiterating that the CM cannot buy the voters, Kumaraswamy asserted that no tactics of the Chief Minister would work in Chamundeshwari Constituency, as the electorate is very much aware of the CM’s dubious methods to win election.
Appealing the people of Chamundeshwari Assembly segment to re-elect G.T. Devegowda in the forthcoming Assembly polls, he reminded the people of the CM’s arrogance and wrong doings.
Continuing his tirade against Siddharamaiah, Kumaraswamy said that the CM had rendered injustice to Kuruba community which he (CM) belongs to. He further said that G.T. Devegowda would become the District in-Charge Minister if the JD(S) was voted to power in the upcoming Assembly polls.
MLA G.T. Devegowda, ZP Member Beerihundi Basavanna, leader Mavinahalli Siddegowda and others were present.
